Hello, my name is Mike Cooper from Oklahoma . I would like to express what ProChux and Lissajous-Do has done for me in my life. I first picked up the Nunchaku after seeing the movie " Enter the Dragon " in  1973 . I dabbled with the chucks for 25 years then I quit for over 10  years. Thrashers are you everyday pair of ProChux; you can thrash around with, which is why we call them the "Thrasher" series.  Thrasher ProChux are made from Pecan, or Red Oak. Pecan is hard and heavy with a weight of 85 to 105 grams per stick, where Red Oak is a lighter, medium weight, hard wood. Both Pecan and Red Oak are $30.00 US and available for immediate delivery. Pink Ivory  ProChux 1 pr $180.00 US (Based on availability)

Pink Ivory wood, a sacred wood of Zulu chiefs in Southern Africa, has long been treasured as a rare wood.   At one time, it was said to be rarer than diamonds.   The wood grows in various parts of Africa, and takes hundreds of years to reach a size suitable to make a bowl blank.  It has a very fine grain and takes as high a polish as you would like to give it. Allow two weeks for delivery.

Cocobolo ProChux $50.00 Per Pair

The classic rosewood, Cocobolo comes in different shades and colors. Cocobolo can have a fair amount of natural oil in the wood.  Sapwood is cream colored but not usually present in our pieces except on edges where it turns out completely.   Each piece varies a little.  We also sell Nicaraguan, or Honduran Cocobolo's, which have less of a bold look to the lines, but the color is more orange, and may have purple colors inside which will turn bright orange after a short time.  

Bocote ProChux $50.00 Per Pair US

Bocote (bah--coat--ee) is a wood which can vary a great deal in appearance.  The grain may have nice contrast and figure as seen above and is sometimes straighter with less of a tan and more of a greenish overall color.   The lines may or may not swirl.  The average specific gravity is about .85 with some variance in different pieces. The wood is somewhat oily.  Allow two weeks for delivery.

Padouk ProChux $50.00 Per Pair US

Padouk is a medium dense wood with a bright orange/red color that darkens to a beautiful, burnt umber color with age and exposure to sunlight. Colors and grain patterns vary as this is a natural product.

Red Heart ProChux $50.00 Per Pair US

Alternate common names include chakte kok even though that name actually belongs more properly to an unrelated wood of similar appearance. The wood is dull pink to moderately bright red and fades severely with long exposure to UV. There is sometimes a purple area at the juncture between the heartwood and the sapwood. I assume, but cannot yet say for sure, that a UV blocking finish would prevent all or most of the fading. This wood has a fine to medium texture

Bubinga is an attractive wood from Africa, and much comes from the country of Cameroon.  It can be a very large tree.  Bubinga can have various kinds of figure (or none).  The pieces below have pictures to help explain the types of figure being offered.  The specific gravity is about .88 and the wood works nicely. Lacewood ProChux $50.00 Per Pair US

This exotic and imported hardwood has heartwood that is reddish-brown with numerous broad rays present on quartered material, which show against the lighter background as a decorative fleck figure. The wood is straight grained with a fine to medium texture.

Ironwood ProChux $50.00 Per Pair US

IRON-WOOD, the name applied to several kinds of timber, the produce of trees from different parts of the tropics, and belonging to very different natural families. Usually the wood is extremely hard, dense and dark-coloured and sinks in water. Several species of Sideroxylon (Sapotaceae) yield iron-wood, Sideroxylon cinereum or Bojerianum being the bois de fer blanc of Africa and Mauritius, and the name is also given to species of Metrosideros (Myrtaceae) and Diospyros (Ebenaceae).

Hi my name is Rich True, I'm 27 years old and am from the United States. I've been practicing martial arts since I was six years old and have been involved in several different arts including Ninjutsu, Karate, Boxing, Kung Fu and Wrestling. I had never seen anything like what Lee was doing. He was doing stuff that I had never thought possible with Nunchaku, and to my surprise he was actually a master at combat as well. I watched every video I could and soon found myself buying his DVDs. I came to find out that Lee is a master of Lissajous Do Ryu, and even makes his own style of Nunchaku called "ProChux" (He didn't create ProChux and never made such a claim, he is just the man that brought them to the world. What good does something do if it just sits around in someone's garage!)

After watching Lee's first DVD's and talking to him on the phone I felt I had a better understanding of the martial arts as a whole. He went out of his way to help me understand everything, and even provided me with some much needed insight. I have found Lee Barden's methods most helpful. The adaptability is amazing. Over the last year or two I have got to know Lee very well. He is an amazing martial artist, but more importantly a wonderful human being. He has proven to be a great friend and I can honestly say that it is a true honor to know him. He is wise beyond his years, and .has been a positive influence on my martial arts and my character.
